time
...my days have flown by and i am tired of being in a hurried mode. so today i took the time to paint my toe nails and then i realized that i really need this blog. taking the time to write almost every day, slows me down and helps me to reflect...it makes me happy!

it is very deep when without uttering a word to each other that several of us adults in the same community can be struck with the same thoughts! my family does not attend the apex gathering every week simply because we want our children to learn to be the church along with us-- in our home, our neighborhood, our family--not in child care. on the way home from the apex service this week clay asked, "what is church for?" we simply explained that we gather together with our friends who love Jesus and love each other--but i fear that we are stifling our children's' natural ability to love others and know the Father by putting it in the box called "church". we attended church and still my 5 year old is unsure of why we were there--what did he "learn" from us? on the other hand, as soon as we drive away our children want to know where we are going and with what family--it was very natural for us to go to the Hunt's for dinner and hang out with family--there was no confusion, no questions--it was church!

clay knows that tonight our church family will gather at our house for dinner and he said, "mom, i think it would be good to make some music instruments and the kids put on a show." so today i will call victoria, sebastian & serenity and tell them to bring any instruments they want--and tonight the adults will learn to worship like children!
